A picture postcard of Foreman Bill, featuring his
greeting ("Thanks Cousin") and autograph on the reverse. The Foreman
worked the wake-up shift on KYA (1260 kc.) in the mid-1940s, usually
from 6 to 8:30 a.m. on weekdays, playing country and western music along
with time checks and the weather. Other local radio stations also aired
similar "folksy" programs targeted for the still-sizeable farm and
agricultural community in the Bay Area, including Dude Martin (KGO),
Western Farm Home (KROW) and Sagebrush Serenade (KPO).
