Among the nominees in the Announcer category are recently retired KFOG morning man Dave Morey, current KSFO morning host Lee Rodgers and longtime KYA, KSFO and KOIT personality Tommy Saunders.

In the News category, two popular morning anchors, Ed Baxter of KGO and Stan Bunger of KCBS, are nominated, as well as former newscasters Ted Wygant (KGO), Chet Casselman (KSFO, KCBS), Bob Lazich (KNBR), Gil Haar (KOBY, KNEW, KIOI) and Tony Tremayne (KSFO, KYA).

Sportscasters nominated for the Class of 2009 include Ralph Barbieri and Gary Radnich (KNBR), Hal Ramey and Steve Bitker (KCBS), and legendary play-by-play men Hank Greenwald (Giants, Warriors) and Joe Starkey (49ers, Cal).

In the Pioneer category, notables include Bouncin’ Bill Doubleday (announcer and manager at KDIA), Wilda Wilson Church (early program director at KGO) and Bud Heyde (popular announcer and host at KPO/KNBC).

In addition, voters may write-in candidates not on the published list of nominees.

Public balloting has been extended through July 18, 2009. The public may vote online at www.BARHOF.com or by mail. Voting will also be conducted at selected Broadcast Legends and California Historical Radio Society events, including the KRE Live open house in Berkeley.

Nominees elected to the Class of 2009 will be announced following the Hall of Fame Selection Committee's meeting in August.
